A Welcome Message from the Principal

Welcome to McAlister Intermediate School. We are so happy to welcome our third graders from A. Ward Spaulding School, our returning fourth and fifth graders and all of our new students to our school. McAlister enrolls almost 600 students in its warm and welcoming learning community. We pride ourselves in creating an environment where our students come first. At McAlister we strive to create a safe and supportive atmosphere where our students grow academically by being challenged to think deeply, use technology, make connections between their daily learning and the outside world, and participate in authentic learning opportunities.

At McAlister Intermediate School we focus on developing the Pillars of Character in all our students as we help guide them to their future. We focus on developing students who demonstrate respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship in order to reach their fullest potential and be active participants in their own social and emotional growth...

What To Do If...

Your Child Is Late To School - Students arriving after 8:25 a.m. should come to the office to sign in.

Your Child Is Absent- Please call the school attendance line before 9 a.m., 860-668-3830 ext 1, to report absence, stating child's name and teacher.

Your Child Forgets Something (lunch, homework,etc)Please bring item(s) to School Office.

You Want To Pick Up Your Child From School- Please send in a "pick up note" including your child's first/last name, teacher's name and the name of person picking up your child. Students picked up at regular dismissal time, 3:05 p.m., will be in the gym. Students dismissed before 3:00 will be signed out in the office.
