A letter from our Fifth Grade Students

What McAlister Intermediate School Means To Me

To me, McAlister has meant a comfortable learning community that has helped me grow. It has taught me responsibility, cared for me by providing me with field trips, assemblies, and even class parties, and by giving me many thoughtful teachers.
When you look back to your childhood memories, what will be the most meaningful? When I get older, I’ll definitely think about my time attending McAlister Intermediate School. Click below to continue reading...

G.E.A.R. (Get Excited About Reading) up for our summer reading program! This year our summer reading program is in collaboration with Kent Memorial Library.  We encourage all our students to read everyday and record their books in their Summer Reading Log.  Also, students should bring their favorite summertime book to school with them on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 to share with their class.

New Opportunities For Our Families!

Buddy Family Program

Beginning this fall, we will begin a Buddy Family program.
We are looking for families to join together in building connections with
students new to town or students joining our community through
the Project Choice Program.

Some of the opportunities for our Buddy Families would be:
  • Attending an evening family picnic at McAlister School in the fall;
  • Being the "go to person" for any questions that new families may have throughout the school year;
  • Help support out of town students participate in afterschool and evening events.
If you would like to help out in this important opportunity for the newest members of our school community, please call our school office at 860-668-3830.
